Speakers' Profiles


Edwin Lacierda served as spokesperson and member of the Cabinet of former President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016. In 2013, Lacierda was named Chairperson of the Open Data Philippines Task Force, which led the initiative to institutionalize open, transparent, and participatory governance by giving the public easy access to all government data in a single portal. He was also involved in the Open Government Partnership, a multilateral initiative to promote empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance. 

With years of experience in public communications and high-level public policymaking coupled with years of legal experience in litigation and the academe, Lacierda now serves as Chief Executive Officer of DDI Strategic Communications. 


Abigail F. Valte served as the Deputy Spokesperson of former President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016, during which she served as a member of the Open Data Philippines Task Force, a Consulting Editor for the Official Gazette of the Philippines, and a member of the Philippine Delegation to the Permanent Court of Arbitration for Republic of the Philippines vs. People`s Republic of China. Valte also served as chair of the Strategic Communications Committee for the 2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Manila, which was mandated to develop and execute the communications strategy for APEC meetings in the country, including the formulation of communication plans, the creation of APEC 2015`s international and local brand, and the formation of strategic messages. Valte also served as Media Bureau Head of the Aquino presidential campaign in 2010.

A sought-after speaker by communications and public affairs practitioners and students on traditional communications and emerging platforms, Valte now serves as Chief Operating Officer of DDI Strategic Communications.


Manuel L. Quezon III previously served as Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office from 2010 to 2016, during which he also served as Editor in Chief of the Official Gazette of the Philippines, Head of the President`s Speech Writers Group, and Supervising Officer of the Presidential Museum and Library, among others.

A television host, newspaper columnist, and blogger, Quezon writes The Long View for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, a regular column on history and politics. A keen practitioner of political communications, Quezon has served as speechwriter and writing consultant to two presidents and a number of public figures, and is now Chief Content Officer for DDI Strategic Communications.


A seasoned magazine and book editor, theater and event producer, and creative writing and media educator, Carlo Francia serves as Managing Editor of Wedding Essentials Magazine, and was Managing Editor for UNO Magazine. Francia also has vast academic experience, having teaching engagements for Colegio de San Juan de Letran, De La Salle University-Manila, ABS-CBN Foundation, and the Department of Education. He received his master`s degree in Communication from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore where he graduated with distinction.

With over twelve years of experience in managing and running lifestyle, travel, and entertainment publications, Francia now serves as Director for Public Relations and Publications for DDI Strategic Communications.


Yolando Jamendang Jr. is a communications specialist with experience in presidential message crafting, national elections, and social media campaigns. He is also a university lecturer with expertise in popular culture, masculinity studies, language teaching, and Philippine Literature.

Jamendang was head of the Message Crafting Division of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office from 2014 to 2016. He previously worked as a Content Writer for 888 Creative Studios and was a Lecturer/Assistant at the Ateneo de Manila University, during which he also served as a Language teacher for the university`s Office of International Programs. Jamendang now serves as a Consultant for DDI Strategic Communications.


Cherie Tan previously served as Senior Graphic Designer for the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, which involved creating key visual resources like visualizations, promotional materials, and infographics accompanying reports, press releases, and other documents for the Official Gazette and the Office of the President. Tan now serves as Design Director for DDI Strategic Communications.


Sandi Ghannam previously served as Story Editor for the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, which involved producing graphic and video material for the Official Gazette and the Office of the President. She was a Copywriter for MTV Asia from 2015 to 2016, a Marketing and Productions Assistant for CS Photography in 2013, and an Assistant Director for Debosyon, a 2013 entry to the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Ghannam now serves as Multimedia Director for DDI Strategic Communications.
