Executive Director Yu Ming Chin together with The City Administrator of Quezon City, Michael Victor N. Alimurung, Attorney Campanilla, Dave Macias visited Bahay Aruga as part of his yearly tradition with the rest of the Viventis Family.
Bahay Aruga is situated in the YWCA building on Don Victorino St., Don Antonio Heights, Brgy. Holy Spirit, QC, adjacent to the DAGGA social hall. It stands as a benevolent foundation dedicated to caring for lolos and lolas who have been abandoned by their families. The discovery of Bahay Aruga came about through Yu Ming Chin’s good friend, Dave Macias, who is also a former Viventis employee.
In January 2023, Yu Ming Chin, along with the Viventis family, made their first visit to the shelter. This visit held dual significance, as they chose to commemorate the Executive Director’s 60th birthday. Aside from fun activities such as singing and dancing presentations, they also gave loot bags filled with goodies as well as delicious food. These are just some of the many ways Yu Ming Chin and the Viventis family thought of sharing their blessings and grace with the lovely residents of Bahay Aruga.
The visit was made very special as the elders were greeted and surprised by their idol, Coco Martin from Batang Quiapo. It was a morning filled with a heart warming welcome and entertainment as Yu Ming gave his speech thanking the community for allowing him and Viventis to celebrate last year’s milestones with them.
“This has always been my biggest joy, especially after my visit to Bahay Aruga last year. I promised myself to make annual visits and share the happiness of my special day with you.” — Yu Ming Chin, Executive Director of Viventis Search Asia.
Keeping his promise, Yu Ming Chin gifted them with a karaoke machine and a widescreen TV, providing the lolos and lolas with a delightful means to fully indulge in their love for entertainment by watching their favorite TV shows and singing their favorite songs to their hearts’ content.
Every visit to Bahay Aruga is definitely something to remember thanks to Viventis’ partners Liwayway Marketing Corporation, Mang Inasal, Century Pacific Food, Marikina Food Corporation, and J.S Unitrade Merchandise Inc. as these equally generous and kind entities made the gathering all the more memorable–or as Gen Zs would say, a core memory worth visiting.
